



Endocrinology
Dr Scott Akker is a Consultant Endocrinologist whose clinical practice is focused on both general and specialist endocrinology with a particular focus on thyroid, adrenal and pituitay disorders. This includes both problems with function as well as careful evaluations of any Endocrine gland tumours (both benign and malignant). He runs specialist clinics for the disorders above as well as clinics for people with genes predisposing them to endocrine disorders.
Dr Akker studied medicine at Downing College, Cambridge and St Bartholomew's Medical College London qualifying in 1995. He completed a PhD and his Specialist Training in Endocrinology and General Medicine in 2005 and has been a Consultant Endocrinologist at St Bartholomew's Hospital (a world renowned Centre for Endocrinology) in London since 2005. He has a research focus on secretory adrenal tumours and paragangliomas.
