Dr Sachin Khambadkone is a highly regarded Senior Consultant in Paediatric and Adolescent Cardiology. He has nearly 30 years of clinical experience with specialised expertise in Echocardiography and Interventional Cardiology in children. He currently sees patients at Great Ormond Street Hospital and The Portland Hospital.
Trained extensively in general paediatrics, neonatology, and paediatric cardiology, Dr Khambadkone is an authority in diagnosing and treating a broad spectrum of cardiac issues, ranging from heart murmurs to complex congenital heart conditions.
His focus extends to adolescent cardiac problems, including chest pain, fainting, and Postural Orthostatic Hypotension Syndrome (POTS). He also manages acute rheumatic fever and rheumatic valvular heart diseases, a rare expertise in the UK.
As the Clinical Lead for Transition in Cardiology, Dr Khambadkone ensures a seamless shift from paediatric to adult care during challenging times for young patients and their families. He has built close collaborations with adult congenital cardiologists, interventional cardiologists, electrophysiologists, and congenital cardiac surgeons.
With a keen interest in imaging, Dr Khambadkone performs advanced echocardiography, including 3D modelling of congenital heart lesions. He played a pivotal role in introducing innovative procedures such as the pulmonary valve replacement without open-heart surgery and implantation of Melody valve in unconventional positions.
In addition to his private practice at The Portland Hospital and Great Ormond Street Hospital in London, Dr Khambadkone is the Chief of Cardiology at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children.
