



Paediatrics (children's doctor)
Dr. Richard Trompeter is a children’s doctor specialising on patients who suffer from problems related to the kidneys or bladder. He was an NHS consultant at the world famous Great Ormond Street Hospital for over 25 years and was responsible for setting up the dialysis and kidney transplant programme. Currently he is an Honorary Consultant Paediatrician and Paediatric Nephrologist at Great Ormond Street and Honorary Reader in Paediatric Nephrology at the Institute of Child Health, London. He is also President of the International Pediatric Transplant Association.
Dr. Trompeter continues to work as a consultant Nephrologist within the National Health Service. He has recently set up the first transition clinic for teenagers and young adults with chronic nephrotic syndrome based at The Royal Free Hospital in London. In addition, he has an enuresis clinic at The Child and Family Practice in London. He sees private patients in the International & Private Patient Centre at Great Ormond Street Hospital.
His extensive clinical practice covers the whole range of kidney and bladder problems in infants and children, and his publications include more than 100 articles in leading medical journals.
Richard Trompeter acts as a medicolegal expert witness and is on the editorial boards of several scientific journals. He is Past President of The Paediatric Section of The Royal Society of Medicine and a member of the Ethics Committee of The European Renal Association.
