



Neurology
Dr Orrell qualified from Manchester University in 1982. He trained in neurology in Leeds and London. He was Senior Registrar in Neurology at Charing Cross Hospital, London, and Visiting Professor in Neurology at University of Rochester, New York, USA for 12 months.
Dr Orrell is interested in the whole range of neurological conditions, including headache, epilepsy, stroke, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's Disease and rarer conditions. He has special interests in disorders of nerve, muscle and brain, and international recognition in disorders of muscle, nerve, motor neuron disease (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis), and neurogenetics.
Dr Orrell was appointed Consultant Neurologist at the Royal Free Hospital, National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery (UCLH), and East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust, in 1998. He is Associate Professor at UCL Queen Square Institute of Neurology, University College London.
At the Wellington Hospital, Dr Orrell provides consultation and diagnostic service for patients with all neurological problems. These include headache, migraine, epilepsy, dizziness, stroke, brain tumours, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson"s Disease, movement disorders, memory problems, Alzheimers Disease, nerve and muscle disorders (myopathy, muscular dystrophy, myositis, neuropathy, myasthenia, motor neuron disease, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis), and rarer conditions, with further investigation and management to suit the patient and their condition.
