Dr Greenwood is a Consultant Neurologist who has sub-specialist interest in stroke medicine, traumatic brain injury, restorative neurology and rehabilitation after brain injury.
Dr Greenwood has focused on the development of acute and early inpatient rehabilitation services for patients after vascular and traumatic brain injury and has reflected this as a founder consultant member and lead clinician of the novel Acute Brain Injury service at The National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery. He has also been Lead Consultant at the Homerton Regional Neurological Rehabilitation Unit since 1985. His research interests are in the pathology, impairment and function after brain injury. He also founded the Acute Neurological Rehabilitation Unit at the Wellington Hospital in 1999, and has been involved in its development since then from 8 beds to the current 46.
