Top feedback

“Dr Jain is a wonderful professional, who constantly gave me 100% reassurance through my diagnosis and episodes of AF He was very efficient at returning calls and emails with all my concerns at all hours especially on a family ski holiday which was slightly concerning being in another country and not speaking the language, to say he was a life line is an understatement, making me feel less anxious after each consultation His thorough investigations with referral to the chosen surgeon for my procedure was reassuring to know I was in the best hands The time scales for tests and diagnosis were extremely quick, therefore Allowing me to get the procedure done and back on my bike ! Dr Piyush is very pleasant, calm an extremely wonderful doctor, easy to talk to with a wonderful bedside manner. I would highly Recommend to anyone looking for a cardiac diagnosis I am looking forward to seeing Dr Jain for a follow up post procedure later this year.“

Dr Piyush Jain is a consultant cardiologist currently working at the private practices at Spire Bushey and Harpenden, HCA Wellington and Elstree Waterfront centre as well as OSD healthcare in Hemel hempstead. His NHS base is West Hertfordshire Hospitals. He has been a consultant cardiologist at West Hertfordshire NHS Trust since 2017 and is currently the departmental lead for echocardiography as well as the lead for clinical governance.

Dr Jain attained his first medical qualification in 2000. He completed his medical training in North London, at hospitals including Royal Brompton and Harefield Trusts as well the Barnet and Chase Farm hospitals, obtaining MRCP in 2010. He further trained at District General Hospitals and Essex cardiothoracic centre where he trained advanced cardiac imaging (Cardiac CT, Echocardiography). He now trains registars in these specialist techniques and teaches on advanced CT courses.

In 2015 he completed an MD (Research) at Imperial College London. His work was supported by the prestigious Dorothy Hodgkin Post Graduate award. The research was to evaluate ethnic differences in markers of subclinical atherosclerosis using cardiac imaging (coronary calcium, echocardiography and myocardial perfusion), as well as inflammation (C-reactive protein). The aim of the study was to assess the potential of such markers in early identification of subjects at risk of coronary events. He has presented his research at local and international conferences as well as published in high impact peer reviewed journals.

Dr Jain has many professional memberships including Royal College of Physicians, British Cardiovascular Society, European Society of Cardiology, British Society of Echocardiography, European Association of Cardiovascular Imaging, Society of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography and British Heart Valve Society.

While he see patients with all aspects of cardiac pathology, he has a special interest in advanced imaging (Echo, stress echo, Transoesophageal echo and cardiac CT).

He enjoys interaction with patients and spend as much time with them as needed to get to a clear diagnosis and clarification of all the findings and diagnosis to the patient. He ensures that they understand their disease, prognosis and future plans as well as rational for ongoing treatment. This allows for individualized medicine as far as possible, as well as shared decision making.
