15th Floor University College Hospital 235 Euston Road, London, United Kingdom, NW1 2BUDr Perla Eleftheriou is a well-respected Consultant Haematologist at University College London Hospitals (UCLH) and HCA Healthcare UK at UCH. She is highly experienced in the management and treatment of haemoglobinopathies, rare anaemias, iron overload, iron deficiency disorders and red cell disorders (sickle cell disease, thalassaemia).
Dr Eleftheriou remains actively involved in research and is currently investigating disease-modifying agents in red cell disorders. Her work has been widely published in peer-reviewed journals and textbooks and she has contributed to national guidelines. In addition to this, she is clinical advisor to the UK Thalassaemia Society and the Thalassaemia International Federation.
Dr Eleftheriou is also heavily involved and enjoys teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students at UCL, the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and University of Westminster, and is the coordinator of the International Haematology Fellowship hosted at UCLH.
She is extremely focused on providing the best possible care to her patients and values patient feedback hugely.
In her spare time she enjoys hiking, classic musical and good food.
