Mr Jairaj was excellent. He took the time before the operation to make sure I fully understood what would be done, and followed up with me several times after the operation to make sure I was recovering well and answered any questions I had. I felt he took the time to make sure I was completely comfortable with everything to do with my treatment. I came out of hospital in far less pain than I had expected.

I find Paul Jairaj to be passionate about his work and takes a great deal of care and attention to every aspect of the surgical procedure I had with him earlier this year. The hip replacement operation I had back in March 2020 ran as smoothly as could be. The whole experience was actually less painful than I expected and the outcome has given me a very much needed new lease of life. One that I did not expect to have so soon. Paul Jairjaj has also left me with a neat little scar that has healed very well too. I couldn't have wished for a better surgeon.

Paul is a very personable consultant and goes out of his way to explain in detail the results of his analysis of your condition and the possible solutions for your recovery, and I made my decision to undergo my operation knowing all of the facts. Paul uses a more customised approach to hip replacement and his explanation of the benefits in doing so were very convincing. I chose Paul over the surgeon who operated on my other hip because of this and my recovery has been very swift and relatively pain free. I am extremely happy with the outcome.

Paul took the time to ensure I understood all the medical terms clearly and all the options available to me, from taking no action to double hip surgery. He provided an innovative solution involving steroid injections and a strong physiotherapy programme three months prior to surgery which enabled me to go into the two operations with good muscle stability, making a big difference to the pace of recovery. He struck an excellent balance of encouraging movement and keeping a watchful eye on my attempts to progress too quickly. I’m now stronger than I was before the surgery and my posture is better than it’s ever been. I highly recommend his services.

    Total Knee Replacement
I got referred to Mr Paul Jairaj in October 2019 as I was encountering increasing knee pains. He diagnosed the likely cause to be arthritis in both knees, which got confirmed through x-rays and scanning. He carefully explained the various options I had and went through the pros and cons of each option. It was clear that the only realistic long term solution was two full knee replacements. The replacements were carried out in January and July 2020, the procedure for the second replacement was more complex due to the Covid-19 precautions. On the days of the operations Mr Jairaj came round in the early morning to again explain the process and returned again late at night, after he had finished the operations of the day to see how I was recovering. Throughout my 2 stays at the hospital and the consultations I have had with him, he has always been extremely polite and professional, and has always taken great care to fully answer any questions or concerns I raised. It has been a pleasure to deal with him. During my hospital stays and sessions with physiotherapists I heard several times comments from the nurses and therapists that Mr Jairaj’s patients always seem to make a very rapid and full recovery. I can confirm this from own experience as 2 weeks after each operation I was able to walk around indoors without using crutches and only used one whenever I went out. I stopped bringing a crutch with me, approx. 6 weeks after the operation on my daily hourlong walks.

From the first consultation with Paul Jairaj through the surgical procedure and follow-up consultations, the explanations and communications were clear and confident. All and any questions were answered clearly and were unambiguous. Paul Jairaj was very thorough in seeking relevant information to my condition and its impact on my usual lifestyle e.g. sporting and leisure activities. The procedure itself was totally successful and painless. Paul was precise and firm with his post-procedure recovery recommendations, and spoke directly to my physiotherapist regarding a personal physio plan. The result has been excellent and I have resumed every sport and physical excise including walking, golf and cycling.

I had a total hip replacement by Mr Paul Jairaj at the London Bridge hospital in November 2019. Straightaway from the first moment of meeting Mr Jairaj I felt comfortable and relaxed and happy that I had chose to have him as my consultant. He explained everything to me, every outcome/option and left all the decisions down to me without any pressure at all. The operation was a massive success and 9 months after my operation I am doing more than I have been able to do in the past 10 years, he has given me a complete new lease of live, free of pain and I can’t ever thank him enough. Taking away the fact that he is a fantastic surgeon and consultant he is a genuine kind and helpful man. Thank you Mr Jairaj for everything you have done.

I have been treated by Paul over several years, initially for an arthroscopy then 20 months ago for a Total Knee Replacement. The preliminary consultations with Paul engendered total confidence and the subsequent surgery for both were a complete success with rapid recovery. The knee replacement results were exceptional. At present I trust my steel knee more than my untreated one. I would wholeheartedly recommend Paul for Orthopaedic consultation and surgery .

Paul was fantastic from start (when initial visits and subsequent scans and discussions) to finish (2 arthroscopy's and 2 hip replacements), he explained everything, listened to my ambitions post operation and was encouraging in my belief to get back to sport. The hip replacements have both gone superbly and my life is vastly improved since having them done.

Paul explained the procedure in language that I could understand, his approach inspired me with confidence to go ahead with the operation - and I haven't looked back since. The team around him were first class, from his reception team, through to the porters, nurses, anaesthetist, physio - they all treated me with care and explained throughout, Paul also called my wife personally after the operation, which was a nice touch. Thanks again for giving me back my ability to exercise and enjoy the outdoors without any pain.

I met Mr Jairaj initially at his Sevenoaks consulting rooms anD subsequently was scanned - I required an arthroscopy on my left knee. I was admitted to London Bridge Hospital as a day case and the procedure was performed. Everything was carried out promptly, efficiently and in a very business and professional manner. My recovery went to plan - I was given very good guidance on exercises etc. and I was back playing tennis within 4 months. The whole package - surgeon, his personal assistant and physiotherapist - was first rate.

Having been under the care of Mr Jairaj for approximately 4 years, I have been extremely happy with all of the care I have received. My condition/s were explained very clearly to me and the various treatment options available were discussed at length and I felt able to make an informed decision with confidence in the proposed plan/s of action. At all times I felt my individual needs and requirements were at the forefront of my consultations, with specific attention paid to my post treatment goals. I felt entirely confident in Mr Jairaj’s diagnosis, treatment plan and of undergoing the surgery itself.

As a surgeon Paul Jairaj is not quick to the scalpel. Paul goes to great lengths to outline possible treatments and explain the benefits or otherwise. His bedside manner is second to none and is very reassuring. I had a purpose built 3D total knee replacement. My recovery was exceptionally quick, feeling comfortable without crutches on day 9 and completed a tough long distance walk within five months of surgery. This is a testament to Paul Jairaj’s surgical skill, planning and post operative care. Ably aided by Carolyn Searby the physiotherapist recommended by Paul. My quality of life has improved from struggling to walk to being able to undertake gruelling and very satisfying hikes.

Paul is a fantastic hip and knee surgeon and we work very closely at London Bridge Hospital. We have a similar network of trusted healthcare professions, and this helps our patients access a seamless service. Paul is extremely thorough and works hard to establish an accurate diagnosis and only reverts to surgery when absolutely necessary. I would whole-heartedly recommend him to my friends and family.
