Mr Obi Agu is a leading Consultant Vascular & Endovascular Surgeon at the University College London Hospitals and HCA London Hospitals. He is also an Honorary Senior Lecturer in Surgery. He studied medicine at University of Nigeria, and trained in General Surgery, Vascular & Endovascular Surgery at University College London Hospital and the Royal Free Hospital.
He has a specialist interest in the management of complex aortic disease and his practice encompasses; management of varicose veins using endovenous laser and radiofrequency technology, balloon angioplasty and stenting for leg pain. As well as claudication, poor circulation, ulcers and diabetic foot complications and carotid endarterectomy for stroke prevention.
He is also a leading authority in the endovascular aortic stent repair for complex aneurysms and dissections. His team of renowned international experts routinely manage complex adult vascular and arterio-venous malformations using various minimally invasive techniques.
Mr Agu also has a clinical interest in the prevention and management of deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and chronic leg swelling. He provides comprehensive care from simple advice on prevention to anticoagulation, venous thrombolysis, thrombectomy, venoplasty and stenting where appropriate.
He works directly with leading spinal and oncological surgeons assisting with surgical access for benign and malignant spinal conditions, retroperitoneal and pelvic tumours. He is also able to treat patients with excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis) with botulinum (Botox) and thoracoscopic sympathectomy.
