Dr Neil Shah is a Gastroenterologist specialising on the diagnosis and management of disease affecting the gastro-intestinal tract in children. He is a Consultant Paediatric Gastroenterologist at the world famous Great Ormond Street HospitalÂ
Dr Shah graduated from medical school in 1990. He was awarded a London university medal for Medicine and Paediatrics for his academic achievements. He qualified as a Paediatric Gastroenterologist in 2002.Â
Dr Shah was recently appointed Professor at the University Leuven, Belgium. Dr Shah’s interests include food allergy facing the problem daily at work and at home, reflux and inflammatory bowel disorders and functional bowel problems such as abdominal pain and constipation.
Dr. Shah is involved in the development of regional/national guidelines for practical identification and treatment of GI food allergy. He leads a research study and group on GI food allergy called the Burden project. He is also co-director of the Academy of Paediatric Gastroenterology.Â
