My son came to Dr Shah after 7 years of misdiagnosis, alot of pain and discomfort for my son and immense stress for everyone in the family. Since seeing Dr Shah, he diagnosed my son through various tests and gave him medication for reflux, bowel movements, prevention and treatment for gut flare ups. He was referred to a dietician and physio. After just 2 years the change is dramatic, my son is eating finally. Gaining weight and pain free. We all have a better understanding of what is wrong and can provide efficient help that he needs. He is now off medications daily and discharged from Dr Shah. If we hadn't of seen him who knows what would of happened to his body after long term misdiagnosis. We greatly recommend Dr Shah.

We finally found Dr Shah after experiencing significant long-term feeding difficulties with our 3 year old son. After no other doctor managed to diagnose the cause (we had already taken him to numerous paediatricians and gastroenterologists), Dr Shah rapidly diagnosed the issue and provided a workable solution. Dr Shah is without a doubt an exceptional gastroenterologist (the best we have found in London) and his empathetic manner with both children and their parents helped us get through a difficult time. Our son has now made a full recovery and we could not be more grateful to Dr Shah.

Dr Shah literally changed our lives…… For those parents who have had to suffer through the agony and torment of having to watch your child in pain and discomfort through reflux caused via non IgE medicated allergies and/or bowel inflammation then booking to see Dr Shah should be your number one priority. Everything from Dr Shah’s bedside manner, extensive knowledge on the subject and support team around him are the diamond standard to which all doctors dealing with this type of issue should attain to reach. Our daughter is now 2 and has been discharged from Dr Shah’s care a happy and healthy child. I really don’t think this would have been possible without him and for that I owe him something more than pure gratitude. Dr Shah has literally changed our life and most certainly that of my daughter.

My son has been a patient of Dr Shah's on and off for many years. Dr Shah is a brilliant Doctor, and we always feel confident that he will be able to determine the cause of the problem and treat my son. He seems to understand the struggles you go through and is absolutely brilliant with children. My son has seen many different doctors over the years so really dislikes going to hospitals, but my son feels really at ease seeing Dr Shah. I would always recommend Dr Shah. In addition his PA is brilliant, always on the ball.

To all the other parents staring into the abyss that is trying to cope with a reflux baby- I could go into our 13 month journey so far and am sure that it will resonate with so many of you. But in short, after averaging probably 4 hours sleep a night for 13 months with a child I loved but quite frankly didn't like - the world has turned a corner. After 2 highly recommended Paediatricians with some improvement for a couple of weeks then back to square one & goodness knows how many different feeding techniques/ formulas etc, a desperate visit to great Ormond Street to Dr Neil Shah has just cut through all the tears (on all sides) and FINALLY got us on the right track.

I see Dr Shah with my daughter and have done for quite a few years, she is seven. I have worked in the paediatric field myself and have worked alongside many excellent and the not such good doctors, seeing both the professional side and behind the scenes. Dr Shah impresses from the moment he takes on a case. Life is difficult with and for my daughter as she has many probs, many little but as a bigger picture it is hard for family life and a normality but i often wonder had it not been for Dr Shah what she may have been like now. We see the local paeds as well and have had numerous local admissions etc but NEVER anywhere near what GOSH and Dr Shah gives us in knowledge, friendliness, confidence and a holistic package of care.

He's amazingly attentive and responsive and really seems to understand the struggles you go through. On our first visit there, he discussed with us 'the burden of disease' and it made me feel so relieved to have someone understand that the disease is burden that the three of us carry - my husband and I and our daughter. It's not us carrying her. Didn't even understand that I felt this way myself until he started talking about it. Wonderful man. Aren't we lucky lucky to have him? Cath - little one born 2009 has inflamatory bowel and colitis...

we also have 4 children under dr neil shah. he has cared for our children now for 11 years and we will be eternally grateful for his support and interest in our family. our children have acute allergic colitis and our eldest son was so badly effected by the age of 2 was on tpn. however once dr shah under the direction of Prof Milla took his case on things changed dramatically. the son we thought we were going to loose began to improve and is still here today to tell the story. though still fed via a gastrostomy he is doing well as are his younger 3 sisters who also have inherited this genetic illness. i too would strongly recommend this doctor.
