My cardiologist referred me to Professor Ruparelia for an exploratory angiogram and I found him to be an excellent communicator, who inspires confidence and thoroughly professional throughout. There's something reassuring about all that when you're having a heart investigation.

I have been a patient of Professor Neil Ruparelia, initially as an outpatient at the Royal Berkshire Hospital, then at the Wellington Hospital at St John’s Wood and most recently at the Circle Hospital, Reading. This was when the covid19 virus was pervading but not in those hospitals These contacts have allowed me to form an impression of him -----a very favourable one. He is a kind person, considerate and willing to spend some time explaining the procedure to be followed. His explanation is in sufficient detail for the patient to understand and not one replete with medical terms, Confidence in him is the result. During the procedure he is supported by an impressive number of colleagues working together as a team A local anaesthetic means that the patient is aware of what is happening but without experiencing pain. When the procedure has been completed comes as a surprise. During the days following ,the Professor and his colleagues were most attentive, overseeing and administering tests of drugs of various types, along with a high level; of care provided by the nursing staff including physiotherapy and advice on nutrition.. More recently, the tests carried out at the Circle Hospital showed a positive results.

I wanted to let you know that I am almost back to normal now, eating for England and having plenty of exercise. I was very nervous, almost numb. Your cheerful bedside manner helped me through, making me feel there was nothing to worry about.

I cannot speak highly enough of Professor Ruparelia I was seen at the Circle Reading within 24 hours of my !st phone call. However at such short notice he had read the reports from Basingstoke Hospital, was fully informed on procedures they had done.He had also read my medical history so was aware of any past problems with my health. This ,to me, demonstrated a very thorough and professional approach, which gave me great confidence in him. His explanation of the results was clear and precise, with no hesitation to clarify certain things when asked His "bedside" manner was excellent, warm, friendly and made you feel at ease totally. My results did not explain why my legs are so swollen but as he said it ruled out "one of the bad boys " which might be causing my problem He suggested a way forward to find the answers which I will pursue I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone who have concerns regarding the workings of their heart
