Dr Ahmed has extensive experience in the diagnosis and management of hereditary cancer syndromes. She has been a consultant Clinical Geneticist since 2011 and has NHS clinic sites include the Royal Free Hospital, UCL Hospital and Great Ormond Street Hospital where she runs a paediatric cancer genetics clinic.
Dr Ahmed undertook her undergraduate training at UCL and trained in Oncology at UCL Hospital with further specialist training in Clinical Genetics at the Manchester Centre for Genomic Medicine. In 2016 she gained a postgraduate qualification in Genomic medicine.
Her research experience is primarily in the field of hereditary susceptibility to breast cancer and she has a higher research degree awarded by the Institute of Cancer research in this field. She is also involved in research on hereditary causes for childhood cancer and the early detection and prevention of cancers, especially of the breast and ovary.
