“Dr Eltumi has looked after 2 of my children for reflux. He is a remarkable doctor. He is very good at dealing with reflux issues. But more than that, he is very good at dealing with parents. As parents, it is very hard emotionally to have a child with reflux. Dr Eltumi knows to find the right words to reassure and give hope to drained parents. He has clear 'plans of action' that help understand what needs to be done. It is his capacity to treat poorly babies as well as look after parents who are having a difficult time that makes him an oustanding consultant.“

    About

Dr Muftah Eltumi is a highly experienced children's doctor with a specialist interest in gastroenterology. Combining over twenty years of medical experience with high standards of care and support, your child's health and well-being is at the forefront of everything he does.

He specialises in the diagnosis and management of children who suffer from infantile colic, gastro-oesophageal reflux disease, food and milk intolerance, coeliac disease and inflammatory bowel disease. He is skilled in endoscopic procedures, using a camera to look inside the digestive system.

Dr Muftah Eltumi has over 20 years experience in paediatric medicine and has held many notable clinical positions and published numerous research articles in leading medical journals.

In 1992, Dr Eltumi was appointed as a lecturer and senior registrar at Charring Cross and Westminster Medical School where, with colleagues, he established the Paediatric Gastroenterology Unit based at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital. In 1997, Dr Eltumi moved to Watford General Hospital where he established a state of the art, dedicated Children Gastrointestinal and Endoscopy unit. When he retired from his NHS post in 2014, a newspaper article in the Watford Observer called him a 'groundbreaking doctor.'

Dr Eltumi treats patients in the Portland Hospital for Women and Children.

Dr Eltumi is father of four and lives with his wife Rukia in Gerrards Cross. In his spare time he likes to play golf and spend time with his family.

It is important that HCA is transparent about our relationship with those doctors who provide us with clinical guidance on delivering the best possible care to patients and operating our hospitals safely and efficiently. We set out here some of the ways in which we work together and the amount we pay this doctor for such services.
