95 Harley Street, London, United Kingdom, W1G 6AFDr Melanie Powell studied medicine at The Royal Free Hospital and trained in cancer medicine at The Royal Marsden, Mount Vernon and The Middlesex Hospitals. She has been based at St Bartholomew's Hospital since 1998 where she has a particular interest in the treatment of gynaecological, head and neck cancers and radiation for lymphoma and prostate cancer. Her main research interests include improved targeting of radiation therapy with an emphasis on reducing toxicity and potentially increasing cure rates.
Dr Powell is a member of the National Cancer Research Network Gynaecological Cancer Group and sits on The East London and City Research Ethics Committee. In addition, she is actively involved with the teaching of medical students at Barts and The London School of Medicine.
