Dr Mehul Dhinoja is a Consultant Cardiologist at St Bartholomew's Hospital and also sees patients privately at the London Independent Hospital and Bupa Basinghall Clinic. He graduated from Charing Cross and Westminster Medical School in 1995. After his basic medical training, he undertook his specialist training in London followed by training in cardiac electrophysiology at The Heart Hospital and in Adult Congenital Heart Disease Electrophysiology at The Children's Hospital Boston in USA.

Dr Dhinoja has extensive experience in general cardiology and all heart rhythm problems. He is particularly interested in the management of complex heart rhythm problems, such as atrial fibrillation and ventricular tachycardia, in heart failure and in patients with primary heart muscle diseases such as hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. Additionally, he is able to use a wide variety of therapeutic procedures, such as catheter ablation procedures and the implantation of devices like pacemakers, implantable cardioverter defibrillators (ICDs) and biventricular devices.

Dr Dhinoja performs between 150 and 200 catheter ablation procedures a year and has 20 years experience in device implantation and explantation. He keeps his knowledge and techniques up to date by attending training courses regularly.

It is important that HCA is transparent about our relationship with those doctors who provide us with clinical guidance on delivering the best possible care to patients and operating our hospitals safely and efficiently. We set out here some of the ways in which we work together and the amount we pay this doctor for such services.
