



Obstetrics & Gynaecology
Dr Makrina Savvidou is a Consultant Obstetrician and recognised subspecialist in Maternal and Fetal Medicine.
Dr Savvidou graduated in 1992 from Aristotles Medical University in Greece and moved to the UK to work as a doctor. She has trained extensively in a range of major teaching hospitals. Her first training post in Obstetrics and Gynaecology was in the North West London Deanery and was awarded Membership at the Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology in 1998. Following this, she sought further sub-specialisation in Fetal and Maternal Medicine at King’s College Hospital, receiving her Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in 2007.
In addition to her clinical training, Makrina has built a strong research background. In 2004, she obtained her MD degree from the University of London.
Her main interest lies in obstetric ultrasound and prenatal diagnosis. She has studied normal and abnormal pregnancy extensively. Her experience enables her to deliver healthcare with a strong evidence-based foundation. She always strives puts the wishes of the parents-to-be at the centre of all decision making.
