Dr Katie Lacy is a Consultant Dermatologist at the St. John's Institute of Dermatology at Guy's and St Thomas' Hospital, London, and is the clinical lead for the melanoma unit at Guy's Hospital.  She has a specialist interest in melanoma and moles and is an expert in the use of mole mapping and dermoscopy to identify suspicious skin lesions requiring removal.  With this experience, Dr Lacy runs a specialist dedicated clinic for patients with multiple moles and the dysplastic naevus syndrome, who are at high risk of the development of melanoma, alongside a joint skin cancer genetics clinic for patients who have had multiple melanomas and their families.   She is also equipped with extensive experience of treating patients with general dermatological conditions (eczema, psoriasis, acne, benign and cancerous skin lesions and other skin rashes).

Dr Lacy graduated from Pembroke College, Oxford University with a 1st class Honours degree and completed a PhD in Immunology at University College London, investigating the effects of ageing on the skin. Outside of her clinical work, she is an Honorary Senior Lecturer at Kings College London and has a research group investigating immune responses in melanoma. Dr Lacy has published her work in peer-reviewed journals and given presentations at national and international meetings.
