Dr Jonathan Katz is a Consultant in Diabetes & Endocrinology, based at Barnet Hospital, which is part of the The Royal Free London NHS Trust - a position he has held since 2014. He also sees patients privately, including at The Wellington Hospital. He specialises in Diabetes, Thryroid Disease and other hormone imbalances and has additional interest in Prolactinoma and Calcium Disorders. He further treats patients with a wide range of conditions including Testosterone Deficiency, Addison's Disease and Vitamin D deficiency.
Dr Katz studied medicine at Cambridge University and University College London, qualifying in 1991. He specialised in endocrinology, completing registrar training at UCLH, the Whittington Hospital and the Royal Free Hospital. He also undertook a two year research fellowship, resulting in an MD, for his thesis on obesity and polycystic ovary syndrome.
In 1999, he worked as a registrar in Sydney Australia and he was appointed as a Consultant in Diabetes and Endocrinology in 2002. From 2007 to 2012, he was Head of the Endocrinology Department at Barnet and Chase Farm NHS Trust and in 2009, he was elected as a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians.
