Highly experienced Consultant Physician and Gastroenterologist Dr John O’Donohue offers a comprehensive gastroenterology service, managing a vast array diseases of the upper and lower digestive tract. He has a particular passion and significant experience in performing endoscopy procedures. He is highly rated by his patients for his bedside manner, guidance and overall approach to his practise.
In 1987, Dr O'Donohue obtained his primary medical qualification from the Trinity College Dublin, the University of Dublin. In 1990 he then embarked on specialist training in gastroenterology and hepatology at a number of distinguished centres in the UK, including King's College Hospital Hepatology Unit, London, St Bartholomew's Hospital, London, Homerton University Hospital, London, and the Western Infirmary, Glasgow.
Committed to improving endoscopy service, Dr O'Donohue has assisted in setting up national accreditation schemes around the UK in endoscopy and bowel cancer screening services. His academic and clinical excellence has been widely recognised and has granted him a number of awards, including the Blaney Gold medal for First in Medicine and a National Clinical Excellence Award by the Department of Health and Social Care, UK.
