A specialist in Internal Medicine and Rheumatology (Adult & Paediatric), and hypermobility and Ehlers-Danlos disorders. Trained at Guys and St Thomas Hospital, London under the watchful eye of Professor Rodney Grahame (and has worked and collaborated with him for over 30 years); and the Children's Hospital, Tufts Medical School, Boston, Massachusetts, USA. He was appointed Prof of Rheumatology, University of Cape Town Medical School in 1996.
Currently Consultant in Rheumatology (Adult & Paediatric) at St Barts & The Royal London Hospital. London, UK; and Prof of Medicine, Catholic University Zimbabwe; and visiting Prof of Rheumatology, University of Zimbabwe. He is also a medical scientist and some of his research work led to the development of successful biological treatments for rheumatoid arthritis and other autoimmune inflammatory diseases.
