Consultant orthopaedic surgeon, Mr Henry Colaço, is a founding member of the Shoulder Practice and The London Shoulder Meeting and the Clinical Lead for Upper Limb Surgery at Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. He specialises in reconstructive and sports shoulder and elbow surgery, as well as complex upper limb trauma (including the hand and wrist).

Mr Colaço has experience of treating high-profile people including actresses, musicians, and professional sportsmen. He takes a patient-centred approach to care, tailoring his treatments (both surgical and non-surgical) to each individual. Where surgery is required, he uses cutting-edge procedures and uses minimally invasive techniques wherever possible to obtain the best outcomes and a faster recovery time. Mr Colaço has a particular interest in finding new reconstructive arthroscopic (keyhole) surgical procedures for the treatment of bone loss in shoulder instability, irreversible rotator cuff rips, and biceps tendon injuries. He is actively involved in research and is the principal investigator for a trial of a single use micro-arthroscopic camera.

Mr Colaço completed his surgical and orthopaedic training at London teaching hospitals after graduating with Distinction from Imperial College School of Medicine. He also completed fellowships in shoulder and elbow surgery and complex upper limb surgery and was awarded the renowned BESS Travelling Fellowship, which he completed in Paris and Lyon.
