



Gastroenterology
Dr Guy Chung-Faye is an experienced Gastroenterologist and General Physician. He is friendly, approachable and offers a holistic treatment approach to his patients. He sees patients with all aspects of gastroenterology conditions and has specialist interests in gastro-intestinal cancers, bowel cancer screening, inflammatory bowel disease, irritable bowel syndrome, dyspepsia and reflux. He is an expert in advanced diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy.
He is the Director of Bowel Cancer Screening and a member of the IBD team, and was previously the Clinical Lead in Upper GI (oesophageal & stomach) Cancer for 15 years at King’s College Hospital. He is a nationally accredited Bowel Cancer Screening Colonoscopist and has a colonoscopy completion rate of over 95%, excellent polyp detection rates of over 50% and high levels of patient comfort.
He qualified from the University of Leicester Medical School and attained a PhD in “Gene therapy strategies in Colon cancer” from the University of Birmingham. He has published in numerous peer reviewed journals and written several book chapters. He is active in research and clinical trials in IBD, cancer and genetics. He is a member of the British Society of Gastroenterology.
His main NHS base is at King’s College Hospital, a London Teaching Foundation Hospital and Academic Health Sciences Centre. He sees private patients at London Bridge Hospital and at King’s College Hospital.
In his spare time, he enjoys playing tennis and the guitar, and learning new languages.
