“I was unable to understand the reason for my child's difficulties and was struggling to find the right therapist when we got referred to Dr.Kukendra. I was pleasantly surprised that we didn't have to wait too long to see her. We got a Saturday appointment with her the same week on Zoom. She didn't take long to grasp the problem and was accurately able to diagnose the issue. She then referred us to really good specialists and ensured that my child got the right course of therapy. None of the doctors who had seen my child previously could point out the problems which Dr.Kukendra identified in just one zoom meeting. She hadn't even had a chance to do a physical examination of my child. Dr.Kukendra has a very holistic approach and her ability to accurately identify conditions without wasting time is highly impressive. She and her administrative team always ensure that queries are swiftly answered, which is helpful when you have been referred to multiple specialists. Dr.Kukendra's medical expertise and insight is remarkable and I would highly recommend her. “

My 22 month old was recently diagnosed with Mild Cerebral Palsy.I had been to see so

many people and all missed the diagnosis. I seen a lady, after researching

myself, in the Clementine Churchill Hospital, Sudbury Hill, Harrow, HA1 3RX.

Her name is Dr. Chelvi Kukendra-Rajah and she is fantastic. Diagnosed him in

first consultation and referred me to a brilliant physiotherapist. I did go

private with BUPA for this consultation and his MRI but she does work in

Hillingdon NHS hospital in a child development centre and that’s where I seen

    the physio too.

Dr Kukendrarajah was very flexible with us, considering we met her for assessments over zoom during the height of Covid-19. The professionalism by her and her team is very high, and she’s very personable which I think we don’t generally consider as an important thing, however in anxious pandemic times, this is a Godsend. She was able to fill the gap that’s hard to fill when you’re not meeting face-to-face, and was later available to field any questions. I’d definitely recommend

Dr Kukendra has been an extremely important part of the journey to understand our sons issues and forming a diagnosis for him. She is highly experienced and has made herself available throughout our journey and has assisted us without hesitation every time we have needed her, from medication to steering us in the right direction with other professionals, enabling us to get an EHCP for our son. This is a journey that is ongoing but I know with Dr K on our team everything is possible. Many thanks

I would highly recommend Dr Kukendrarajah who completed an assessment of my son. We have seen multiple pediatricians over the past 6 years and she was the first one who seemed to understand my son's issues and give him a diagnosis of ASD. She suggested my son had DCD which had been overlooked by all the other healthcare professionals we have seen and following her recommendations we have recently had an OT assessment who has confirmed the DCD diagnosis. I'm really grateful to her as I'm sure this would have been missed if not for her recommendations. She has an excellent manner and is very empathetic, her report was very in depth and has really helped at my sons school with their application for an educational care plan. The school have praised the report and I have found it has been a great help in getting him more support at school. Would highly recommend to others.

I was impressed. Dr Kukendrarajah was very empathetic. Obviously very knowledgeable (which was a given - but combination of empathy + knowledge isn't always a given with some medical people). She was also very accommodating in allowing a follow-up conversation to be by Skype video, which my wife and I found very valuable. Also extremely thorough. I do feel that we have moved our daughter's situation on positively because of Dr Kukendrarajah's input. Thank you!

Dr Kukendra was very empathetic and co-ordinated a OT, educational psychologist and speech therapist to inform my sons diagnosis. She was very patient when she met my son and was able to obtain the information she required. The final diagnosis was very well informed and report also helpful as suggested helpful strategies to deal with behaviour of PDA. I would recommend Dr Kukendra as she very professional but also has the soft skills and excellent communication.

Dr. Kukendrarajah is excellent with her knowledge and skills and she listened to our all concerns and took us seriously. She was sympathetic and compassionate and so supportive with us. We found Dr. Kukendrarajah very professional and so approachable and down-to-earth. We would recommend her to anyone who was in need of help in looking at whether their child has difficulties with social skills. She has given us lots of extra information to look into, referred us to other professionals for a full assessment and gave us a good understanding of our child's needs. She explained it all clearly in lay terms and we are extremely grateful for her knowledge and skill and all her help.

First of all, terrible handshake. Found her extremely hard to understand verbally. Kept asking her to repeat. I don’t find her informative, she didn’t tell me anything i didn’t already know/read from written reports and failed to go into depth relating to results. Yet charges what she does. I expected much more from a doctor like this at The Portland. Seemed more interested in sharing and keeping samples for investigation than actually giving is any sound advice. If I come back I would request to see another doctor.

Dr Kukendra has seen our both our children within the last 2 years. We found her thorough and detailed in her analysis and diagnosis. She is easy to talk to and we felt that she heard and addressed our concerns and helped us understand the importance of early intervention. She undertook a detailed timeline evaluation of each child's developmental milestones along with several structured questionnaires on ASD and ADHD. Her assessment reports were not only very useful for the EHCP process but also for the schools as she suggested strategies and support that is necessary for our children to move forward. She referred us to excellent Occupational Therapists and Clinical psychologists as part of her multi-disciplinary assessment. We are very satisfied with our overall experience and rate her highly. Dr Kukendra is very specialized in her profession and we are grateful for her invaluable support for both our special needs children.

I am so glad we found Dr Kukendrarajah for our son. We where having lots of problems with him that we did not understand. As soon as we met her she already had a good idea of what was going on and how to help us which was a huge relief. She was professional, friendly, very knowledgeable and my son was very comfortable with her. We are still in the early stages of getting to grips with our son's difficulties but without Dr Kukendrarajah's expertise we would not have known where to start. She has given us a good understanding and an excellent starting point with lots of extra information to look into. We are very grateful to her.

Our daughter saw Dr Kukendrarajah twice and was ultimately diagnosed with 22q11.2 syndrome which is a rare and often undiagnosed condition. Throughtout the process Dr Kukendrarajah was professional and caring, paying a lot of attention to our daughter's anxieties and fears, trying to ensure that any examinations or outpatient assessments were done in a way to minimise, as much as possible, the stress our daughter would be under. Dr Kukendrarajah also spent a lot of time outside of consultations analysing information. She would phone us and ask follow up questions, we have the impression that she spent a good deal of time trying to work out our daughter's diagnosis and we're very grateful that she put so much work in. After she was diagnosed Dr Kukendrarajah has kept in contact with us to ensure that both our daughter and ourselves are coping okay and are getting access to the care needed. We very much appreciate the extra time Dr Kukendrarajah has given us and the support she still provides.
