Professor Ashutosh Wechalekar is a well-respected Consultant Haematologist. He works with HCA Uk at University College London Hospital as well as the Royal Free NHS Trust. He has a wide range of experience in general haematology but has a special interest in multiple myeloma and amyloidosis.
After qualifying with a Medical Degree he competed for an extensive rotational training scheme in haematology, including two fellowships and a post in Canada before being appointed Consultant. in 2004, he was appointed to the UK National Amyloidosis Cene as an Honorary Senior Research Fellow, and after three years there was promoted to Senior Lecturer and Honorary Consultant. He remains heavily involved in medical education and research, particularly in the treatment of systemic amyloid light-chain amyloidosis and multiple myeloma. Throughout his career, he has been published extensively and made an enviable reputation in his field.
