



Oncology
Dr Andrew Sykes is a Consultant Clinical Oncologist at The Christie. He graduated in Medicine from the University of Birmingham in 1989, before moving to Manchester to train in oncology. He gained his Fellowship with the Royal College of Radiologists in 1996. He was appointed as a Consultant at The Christie in 1997 and is currently Clinical Director of the Department of Clinical Oncology. He specialises in treating head and neck cancer with chemotherapy and radiotherapy. He also provides radiotherapy support for the melanoma team.
Alongside his clinical work he is actively involved in research, with a particular interest in radiotherapy and chemotherapy for head and neck cancer, and electro-Chemotherapy. Currently he is Chairman of the Head and Neck Clinical Subgroup for the Greater Manchester & Cheshire Cancer Research Network
