



Oncology
Dr Ananth Shankar is a Consultant Paediatric and Adolescent Oncologist. He is based at University College London Hospitals NHS Trust and is the Clinical Lead for Adolescent Neuro-oncology. He is an Honorary Senior lecturer in Paediatrics at the ICH/UCL and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health. He specialises in adolescent neuro-oncology and nodular Lymphocyte Predominant Hodgkin’s Lymphoma [LPHL]
After graduating in medicine from Cailcut Medical College in India, he trained in Paediatric Oncology at Our Lady’s Hospital for Sick Children in Dublin and the Royal Marsden Hospital. He completed a Research Fellowship at Queen Mary and Westfield College in London, with his thesis investigating Paediatric Lymphomas.
Dr Shankar is actively involved in research into Lymphocyte Predominant Hodgkin’s Lymphoma and is the current UK Chief Investigator for the International EuroNet LPHL trial. He is an undergraduate examiner with University College London and is also a clinical and educational supervisor of paediatric oncology trainees.
