



Paediatrics (children's doctor)
Dr Alan Magee is a Consultant Paediatric Cardiologist at the Royal Brompton & Harefield NHS Trust and he also sees patients privately, including at The Harley Street Clinic. Dr Magee is a specialist in paediatric cardiology and cardiothoracic surgery. He trained in medicine at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast, before undertaking specialist training in paediatrics at the Royal Hospital for Sick Children in Edinburgh. He also spent three years as a Fellow in Paediatric Cardiology at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, where he specialised in the catheter treatment of children with congenital heart disease. He was appointed to a locum consultant position in Guy's Hospital in 1998 followed by appointment to a substantive consultant position at the Royal Brompton Hospital in 1999.
He is a member of council of the BCCA and Chair of the SAC in Paediatric Cardiology at the Royal College of Physicians. Dr Magee also has an interest in the training and support of interventional congenital cardiologists in the third world. He is a Trustee of the charity Chain of Hope, which treats children’s heart disease in developing countries and has led over 20 medical missions with the charity.
