Professor Alan Salama is a Consultant Nepthrologist at the Royal Free Hospital and UCL Department of Renal Medicine. He also performs private work at London Clinic, the Physicians Clinic and Harley Street Clinic.
After completing his medical training in Oxford and London, he undertook a PhD at the Royal Postgraduate Medical School. Following this, he completed further specialist training at Brigham and Women's Hospital part of Harvard Medical School, USA.
He performs all aspects of renal care and transplantation and specialises in autoimmune diseases, kidney transplantation and polycystic kidney disease. He also has a particular interest in autoimmune conditions that affect the kidney such as glomerulonephritis and systemic vasculitis.
Alongside his clinical work, he is actively involved in laboratory research into autoimmune kidney disease and immune dysfunction.
