



Gastroenterology
Dr Adam Harris is a highly qualified and experienced Consultant Physician and Gastroenterologist. With over 30 years of experience working as a consultant for the NHS, Dr Harris now exclusively practices privately at a number of clinics based in West Kent and the City of London. His specialist areas of interest include diagnosis and treatment of gastro-oesophageal reflux, irritable bowel syndrome, inflammatory bowel diseases and dyspepsia.
Dr Harris graduated with a medical degree in 1987 from Charing Cross and Westminster Medical School. He then went on to postgraduate specialist training in internal medicine and gastroenteology at various hospitals in London, including Charing Cross Hospital, St Mary's Hospital, Central Middlesex Hospital, St Thomas' Hospital and St George's Hospital, as well as hospitals outside of London in Epsom, Kingston, Hillingdon and Harefield. After specialist training, Dr Harris completed two years of full-time gastroenterology research, which granted him a Doctor of Medicine higher degree from the University of London.
Dr Harris is also a member of the British Society of Gastroenterology, where he has held Secretary and Chair positions as part of the Clinical Services & Standards Committee. Recognising his continued and unwavering dedication and contribution to the NHS, he was honoured with a National Bronze Clinical Excellence Award in October 2007.
Dr Harris has published widely both generally and in the field of gastroenterology. He co-authored the BSG Handbook for Independent Practice, as well as the NICE guidleines for ulcerative colitis. Dr Harris is also actively involved in research, investigating a range of topics from ulcerative colitis to Crohn's Disease, to Helicobacter pylori and acid-related disease.
