Physiotherapy
I am an Advanced Practice Physiotherapist in Paediatric Orthopaedics,
and have more than 35 years of experience in treating clubfoot and lower limb
deformity in children. I have been practising the Ponseti method for 20 years
and was fortunate enough to meet Dr Ponseti in 2004.
I work closely with Ms Naomi Davis, Consultant Paediatric
orthopaedic surgeon as part of the The London Clubfoot Clinic, @ The Portland
Hospital - www.thelondonclubfootclinic.com and with other Consultant Paediatric Orthopaedic
Surgeons who refer to me for specialist casting for lower limb problems. I also
network with Paediatric Physiotherapists to provide ongoing rehabilitation
following corrective casting if required
I have extensive experience in working with Orthotists to
promote function following interventions such as casting or surgery. I
deliver a holistic, child centred approach to treatment.
I qualified as a Chartered Physiotherapist from St Mary’s
Hospital, Paddington, London in 1985.
I have worked at Great Ormond Street Hospital and The
Hammersmith Hospital amongst others during my career.
I have been working in my NHS role at Chelsea and
Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust , London, UK, for 21 years. The Ponseti service there specialises in
treating complex feet, and takes referrals from children across the UK.
I am involved in training healthcare professionals in
Ponseti clubfoot management in the UK and abroad and have worked with Global
Clubfoot Initiative and several NGOs in the development of the Africa Clubfoot
Training Programme, visiting Ethiopia,
Kenya and Tanzania. I have taught in Bangladesh,
