Dr. Anderson is a Consultant Psychiatrist who has experience in all psychiatric diagnoses and their management in adults and older adults. He is also dually trained as a psycodynamic psychotherapist and group analyst and uses that training to provide bespoke clinical formulations beyond just diagnosis. He has particular interests in issues around sexuality, gender, trauma, abuse, relationships issues, and neuropsychiatric disorders such as dementia and brain injury. He sees private patients at The Christie Private Care and at Hampden House (both in Manchester). He also sees patients online.

Dr. Anderson earned his primary medical qualification at the University of Aberdeen, after which he undertook his Masters's degree in Psychoanalytic Studies. He then undertook his psychiatrist training in the UK and also worked towards his Ph.D. in Educational Psychology and Cultural Studies, where he gained knowledge and expertise on analytic approaches to sexuality and gender. During this time, Dr. Anderson also worked towards his Postgraduate certification in Education at Anglia Ruskin University. Upon completion of his training, he was appointed Consultant at the Christie NHS Trust, where he has since worked with a range of patients for the psychiatric management of cancer, dementia, and old age.

Since his Consultant appointment, Dr. Anderson has gone on to hold the position of Medical Director for an independent hospital, highly rated by the Care Quality Commission. He is also an active member of the medical education community and is actviely engaged into research with the Universoty of Manchester.
