



Cardiology
Dr Aneil Malhotra is currently undertaking a higher research degree as a funded CRY research fellow at St. George’s University of London. His research focuses on sports cardiology and inherited heart disease and his areas of interest include the overlap between hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and the physiological adaption of the athlete’s heart, as well as football screening. Dr Malhotra also has a keen interest in medical education.
Dr Malhotra performed basic science research at Harvard University during his undergraduate training, qualifying from the University of Cambridge in 2006, spending his Foundation years working in Cambridge and Papworth and later achieving his Membership of the Royal College of Physicians in 2009 upon moving to Oxford to continue his specialist training in cardiology. Dr Malhotra also completed a master’s in medical leadership in 2012.
Dr Malhotra was the Young Investigator Award winner at the European Association for Cardiovascular Prevention and Rehabilitation conference, Lisbon (2015) and runner up at the American College of Cardiology conference, Chicago (2016). His work has also achieved best poster awards at international conferences.
