It was then he decided to move to six years Higher Surgical Training in Plastic Surgery in London and the South East, with rotations at the St Andrews Unit in Chelmsford (2001-2), St Thomas' Hospital (2003-4), The Royal Marsden Hospital (2005) and The Craniofacial Unit at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital (2006).

 

In 2006 he relocated to Houston, Texas where he spent a year as Fellow to the MD Anderson Cancer Centre focusing on microsurgical reconstructive surgery.


He is highly regarded within the field due to his meticulous attention to detail and impeccable credentials. IN 2013 he was included in the Breast Section of the Tatler Doctors Guide – Britain’s Top 250 Consultants by Speciality.

Mr Norman Waterhouse is a Consultant Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeon and has a national and international profile for facial rejuvenation surgery.

He trained in Cambridge, Bristol and London in the UK and also trained abroad including periods spent in Bordeaux, Adelaide and Tokyo.


He has a national and international profile for facial rejuvenation surgery. He gained the specialist fellowship FRCS(Plastic Surgery) in 1988. Initially appointed as Consultant Plastic Surgeon at St Bartholomew's and the London hospital, he was subsequently appointed at Charing Cross and St Mary's before becoming Lead Clinician of the Cranio facial Unit at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital. He has a national and international profile in teaching and training, supervising undergraduate degrees and lecturing at international meetings. Last year he performed live facelift surgery in Berlin at the annual meeting of the German Society of Plastic Surgeons.

He co-founded an international children's charity 'Facing the World', providing first world care to children with cranio-facial conditions unable to access or afford treatment. Today he works with Operation Smile, providing cleft lip and palate care for children in developing countries, and has operated in Nicaragua and Peru in the last two years.

Hand Surgery, Skin Cancer

Mr Giles Bantick is a Consultant Plastic Surgeon and Hand Surgeon, based at Chelsea & Westminster Hospital and West Middlesex University Hospital. He sees private patients at The Platinum Medical Centre (Wellington Hospital) and at Chelsea Outpatient Centre. Around 70% of Mr Banticks practice is hand surgery and 30% plastic surgery, including minor cosmetic surgery.

Mr Bantick trained at at Barts in London and then undertook specialist training in plastic surgery in Bristol, Cambridge, South Wales, Liverpool and also in Sydney, Australia. He then completed a Fellowship in Hand Surgery at Royal North Shore Hospital, Sydney and a further Fellowship in cosmetic surgery in London. He  worked as a cosmetic surgeon in Harley Street for about a year in 2001-2.

He has various active research interests. He was a Research Fellow at Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston in 1994-5 studying wound healing and was awarded a Fulbright Travelling Scholarship for this work.

Mr Bantick was Lead for Plastic Surgery (head of department) at Chelsea & Westminster Hospital from 2007-12.

Mr Bantick is a Fellow of The Royal College of England and is also actively involved in education, training medical students at all levels and is an invited lecturer at the Imperial College Medical School.

In his hand surgery practice, he works closely with a team of hand therapists and with a Consultant Radiologist, who is expert at ultrasound scans and ultrasound guided hand procedures. Ultrasound scans are used to assess many hand problems and can often be done at the initial consultantion.

Mr Bantick's special areas of interest include all types of hand injuries and hand conditions, including carpal tunnel syndrome, arthritis and Dupuytren’s disease. He treats many elite sportsmen with hand injuries and hand problems, and also muscians with hand problems.

In his plastic surgery practice, Mr Bantick offers removal of skin lesions (including cysts, moles, BCCs and skin cancers, lipomas) and scar improvement (steroid injections and surgical removal).
