Mr Alastair Fry is a Consultant Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon, specialising in in head and neck surgery, jaw surgery and reconstruction wisdom tooth surgery, implants and salivary gland surgery. Mr Fry is highly experienced in the management, diagnosis and treatment of mouth cancers and has researched heavily into the topic. Alastair aims to reduce surgical side effects, to enable a speedy post-operative recovery, by way of using minimally invasive techniques. Mr Fry practices at the Harley Street Clinic and London Bridge Hospital.
Alastair qualified as a doctor in 2008 at Newcastle University, after initially qualifying as a dentist in 2003, from Sheffield University. After qualifying for medicine, Alastair undertook several fellowships with the royal college of Surgeons, during which he researched early mechanisms of invasion in mouth cancers, oral and maxillofacial surgery, plastic surgery and Ear Nose and Throat Surgery. After undertaking fellowship with the New York Memorial Sloane Kettering Hospital, he took up his consultant appointment at London Bridge Hospital. Mr Fry has won various awards for his outstanding practice, and currently chairs the Guys Head and Neck Cancer MDT. He is also well established in the research community, authoring several journal publications.
