Mr Rob Pollock is a consultant orthopaedic surgeon specialising in hip and knee disorders and all bone and soft tissue tumours. He has vast experience in first-time and revision hip and knee replacements, as well as limb salvage surgery for musculoskeletal tumours. Mr Pollock has been a consultant at The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital (RNOH) since 2004 and was the Clinical Director of the Joint Reconstruction and Sarcoma Units there from 2017 to 2021. His private practice is at Princess Grace and Wellington Hospitals. He has been recognised for his work with the NHS and has received seven clinical excellence awards during his career.


After graduating with honours from University College London in 1993, Mr Pollock pursued orthopaedic training at a number of hospitals in London. He went on to complete fellowships in Australia and the USA where he further trained in hip and knee replacement, arthroscopic (keyhole) surgery, and bone tumour care. He later earned the renowned American, British, and Canadian (ABC) Fellowship awarded by The British Orthopaedic Association and spent six weeks at top orthopaedic clinics in North America gaining invaluable knowledge.


Mr Pollock is active in research and has written over 90 articles on joint reconstruction and bone cancer and frequently presents at national and international conferences. He also teaches on a number of postgraduate courses at the RNOH.


In his free time, Mr Pollock enjoys cycling, jogging, and walking his dog in the Chilterns with his young family. He often competes in triathlons and completed Ironman in 2016.

Professor Fares Haddad is a Hip and Knee Reconstructive Orthopaedic and Sports Surgeon at University College Hospitals. He is Divisional Clinical Director of Surgical Specialties at UCH, and Director of the Institute of Sport, Exercise and Health at University College London. 

 

Professor Haddad’s clinical and research endeavours have centred around hip and knee reconstruction, with interests in the expansion of knee and hip arthroscopic techniques to deal with sports injuries, new bearing surfaces and outcomes assessment in hip, knee and revision surgery. His work also encompasses novel strategies to manage patients with knee ligament and cartilage injuries. He provides medical input at elite level for dancers and a number of elite sports including football, athletics, rugby, boxing and martial arts. He was the musculoskeletal lead at the 2012 London Olympics and runs the IOC research centre at ISEH, in addition to being the chief medical officer for the NFL in the UK. 

 

Graduating with a First-Class BSc and MB BS from the University College London Hospitals, Professor Haddad undertook his basic training in hip and knee surgery and reconstruction on the St Bartholomew’s, Royal Free and Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital rotations, and fellowship training in the United States and Canada. He was the gold medallist in the FRCS (Orth) exam and has gained a large number of prizes and prestigious academic awards. He has been an EFORT Travelling Fellow, British Hip Society Travelling Fellow and ABC Travelling Fellow in 2004. He became a Hunterian Professor in 2005.


He has presented and published widely (over 500 peer reviewed publications) on key aspects of hip, knee and sports surgery and continues to lead a clinical research group with interests in hip and knee joint preservation after injury, prosthetic design and performance and outcomes measurement after hip / knee surgery and sports injuries. He is editor in chief of the Bone and Joint Journal.

Mr William Bartlett MBBS BSc MRCS FRCSEd (Tr&Orth) is an experienced Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon practicing in North and Central London. His specialist interest is in the surgical and non-operative management of hip and knee complaints.

Mr Bartlett often also treats patients with more sedentary lifestyles. Mr Mazin Ibrahim is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at The Princess Grace Hospital.
