Dr Ameet Dhar is a leading Consultant Hepatologist based at the Liver and Anti-viral Unit at St Mary's Hospital, Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, London, and in the Department of Hepatology and Liver Transplantation at the Royal Free Hospital, London. Dr Dhar sees and treats patients with all general liver conditions including alcohol-related liver disease, fatty liver disease, viral hepatitis, and autoimmune disorders of the liver. He provides comprehensive care for patients with cirrhosis and its complications, including portal hypertension, ascites and portal hypertension, pre- and post-transplant medical care

Dr Dhar is actively involved in clinical research and has a keen interest in care for patients with cirrhosis and prevention of liver fibrosis. He has co-authored a large number of peer-review publications and regularly presents at national and international conferences. Dr Dhar is also passionate about teaching and he is an Honorary Senior Lecturer at Imperial College London, and is currently responsible for the Hepatology section of the Royal Society of Medicine (RSM).
