Professor Paul Fields is a Consultant Haematologist working at London Bridge Hospital and Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Trust. His specialist interests are in the diagnosis and treatment of lymphoma, lymphoproliferative disorders, and general haematology. His specialist postgraduate
haematology training was undertaken in London at University College Hospital and Royal Free Hospitals. He undertook an MRC funded PhD in immunology and genetics in the UK and US, for which he was awarded two young investigator awards. He has published extensively in lymphoma and led the development of new treatments for lymphoma which are used across the world.

Professor Fields has led the Clinical Lymphoma Service at Guy’s and St Thomas` for over 18 years and is the Chair of the Regional Sector Multidisciplinary meeting for the treatment and management of patients diagnosed with lymphoma. His current research interests are in developing new effective therapies for patients with lymphoma, and he has led 4 UK trials as Chief Investigator. He has published extensively with over 90 peer reviewed publications, and written national and international guidelines for the treatment of lymphoma. He is medical advisor to “Lymphoma Action” and has lectured on national patient conferences for the treatment of lymphoma. He is a member of the national UK Lymphoma Clinical Studies Group and currently is leading the development of new UK trial treatment for Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma.

Dr.Karen Breen is a Consultant Haematologist with a Specialist interest in Thrombosis. Her undergraduate training was at Trinity College, Dublin and postgraduate training including in Haematology were in Ireland before moving to the UK to conduct research leading to an MD.

She is a member of the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland and Royal College of Pathologists, UK. She is currently involved in several clinical trials and in translational research in the Antiphospholipid syndrome and has authored and co-authored on publications on the thromboembolic disease. She is also lead to the acute management of thrombosis and anticoagulation and a member of the Trust Thromboprophylaxis and Thrombosis Committee at Guys and St.Thomas’ Foundation Trust. Dr Gupta is the Clinical Director for Haematology and Cancer at Lewisham and Greenwich NHS hospital. He is the principal investigator of TACTIC CoVID trial . Dr Gupta now taking patients at London Bridge Hospital also. Dr Gupta is a clinician with experience in clinical and laboratory haematology spanning more than 21 years. He obtained training at Kings College Hospital, London; Royal North Shore Hospital, Australia; National University Hospital (NUH), Singapore; and All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), India. He obtained CCST from London Deanery at Kings College Hospital. His clinical research was on anthracycline toxicity in children suffering from acute lymphoblastic leukaemia.

As an academic, he is deeply interested in teaching and research and he is an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer at Brighton and Sussex medical school. In 2011, Dr Gupta became a consultant haematologist. He is specialised in haematology and oncology, with a deep interest in clotting disorders and anaemias. He was the lead research and development (R and D) in haematology at East Sussex healthcare, as well as at Lewisham and Greenwich NHS trust. He diagnoses and treats a variety of primary blood disorders (Clotting disorders, Bleeding disorders and Anaemias). Part of his services includes inpatient and outpatient chemotherapies for Multiple Myeloma, Lymphomas, Chronic Lymphocytic Leukaemia and Chronic Myeloid Leukaemia.

Dr. Gupta is also into day case and inpatient blood transfusion and iron infusion. Dr Gupta provides consultations at all the major private hospitals in and around Bromley and Orpington. He is on the panel of all the major health insurance providers. He belongs to the British Society of Haematology, European Haematology Association, Medical Protection Society and the American Society of Haematology. He is associated with some charitable organizations in the UK and in India. The awards he has received include the prestigious Glory of India award based on his academic and social contributions. Dr Matthew Streetly is a Consultant Haematologist appointed as clinical lead for myeloma/plasma cell disorders at Guys and St Thomas’s NHS Foundation, and a member of the haemato-oncology inpatient attending team looking after inpatients with myeloma, lymphoma and leukaemia. He has a special interest in the use of novel therapies for patients with myeloma and is the principal investigator on multiple clinical trials.

Dr Varun Mehra is a leading consultant haematologist based in London who specialises in myelodysplastic syndrome, acute leukaemia, bone marrow failure syndromes, autologous transplantation for autoimmune conditions such as multiple sclerosis, Crohn's disease, systemic sclerosis, and has expertise in Allogeneic stem cell transplantation, immunotherapy and post transplant complications.

Dr Mehra completed his post-graduate specialist Haematology training at world renowned King's College Hospital, London, where he has been working for past few years as a core member of a busy Stem Cell Transplant & Cellular therapy unit, while pursuing his MD (res) degree with King's College London University in developing novel diagnostic biomarkers for invasive fungal disease (aspergillosis) in immunocompromised Haemato-oncology patients.

Dr Mehra has been instrumental in leading a large single centre NCRN badged prospective study on Invasive Fungal disease and has a good track record for his involvement in clinical trials, more recently as Chief and Principal Investigator of various clinical research studies in the UK. He has developed key academic partnerships in mycology research and education within Kings Health Partners (KHP). He has published regularly on his disease specific research interests in high impact clinical and scientific journals.

Dr Mehra's main research interests are in infections of immunocompromised hosts, graft versus host disease and transplantation of autoimmune diseases; and have helped develop exciting research collaborations within and outside Kings Health Partners with bench to bed translation opportunities.

He also has strong interest in education and training. He chaired London School of Pathology Specialist Trainee Committee and represented London Pathology Trainees in the Royal College Specialist Advisory group between 2014-2016. He currently sits on the KHP Institute of Haematology Education & Training steering group, playing an active role in developing post-graduation modules for training in clinical haematology and other disease specific Preceptorship programs.

He is also the current Educational lead for Haematology Specialist training program in Kings college Hospital, jointly working with Training Program Director.

Dr Mehra is also fully trained in the assessment of patients for, and delivery of CAR-T therapy, a highly specialised new therapy that has recently been licensed for certain patients with relapsed high grade B cell lymphomas and acute lymphoblastic leukaemia.

Dr Robinson qualified at King’s College London and completed specialist training at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust. She completed post-graduate research at King’s College London and was awarded an MRes. She has been a consultant haematologist at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust since 2010.

She is the lead consultant for patient blood management, pre-operative and post-operative correction of anaemia, transfusion medicine, immune thrombocytopenia and obstetric haematology (anaemia, thrombocytopenia, thrombosis, antiphospholipid syndrome, myeloproliferative neoplasms in pregnancy).

She is a member of the British Society of Haematology and the British Blood Transfusion Society. She is chair of the British Society of Haematology Transfusion Task Force, co-chair National Blood Transfusion Committee anaemia working group, writing group member NICE Transfusion Guidelines, specialist committee member NICE quality standards for transfusion.

She has published over 30 peer-reviewed papers, book chapters and articles and lectures throughout the UK and internationally.

Dr Donal McLornan is a Consultant in Haematology and Stem Cell Transplantation, clinically specialising in Haemato-oncology and Stem Cell Transplantation. He has a particular interest in Myeloproliferative Disorders, Myelodysplasia, Acute Myeloid Leukaemia and Allogeneic Stem Cell Transplantation. Dr McLornan’s interests led him to lead the Myeloid Disorders MDM across South East London and to be part of the NCRI MPN working group. He is the current chair of the MPN subcommittee of the Chronic Malignancy Working Party of EBMT. 

He has extensive clinical trial expertise and is the Chief Investigator or Principal Investigator of multiple clinical trials in the field of MPN.

Dr McLornan graduated in 1999 from Queen’s University Belfast with Honours, undertaking a further one-year period in Hammersmith Hospital, specialising in Allogeneic and Autologous Stem Cell Transplantation for post-graduate training. During this post-graduate training, he was awarded a prestigious MRC fellowship and completed a PhD investigating drug resistance in Acute Myeloid Leukaemia for which he received several awards. He has also authored over 80 papers and has a special research interest in Myeloproliferative Disease. He is currentlty supervising two MD sutudents. He is a member of EHA, EBMT and BSH, while regularly speaking internationally on MPN, MDS and allogeneic SCT.

Dr David Wrench MA, MBBChir, FRCPath, PhD is a Consultant Haemato-oncologist working at London Bridge Hospital and Guy’s & St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust. His specialist interest is in the diagnosis and treatment of lymphoma. He graduated in medicine from Cambridge University and underwent specialist haematology training in London, including St Bartholomew’s, Hammersmith and Royal Free Hospitals.
