Prof Paul O'Flynn is a Consultant ENT Surgeon who qualified in 1982. Prof O'Flynn trained in London and Nottingham before becoming a Consultant at The Royal National Throat, Nose and Ear Hospital in 1993.

Prof O'Flynn undertakes a full range of general ENT procedures including tonsillectomy, nasal and sinus surgery as well as a special interest in Parotid gland surgery, Neck lumps including thyroid swellings.

He has managed and assessed hundreds of airways and support ITU care with tracheostomies. 

He has a unique role in the rehabillition service at the Wellington hospital managing swallowing, voice and airway issues.

In the out patient setting he manages a range of conditions from nasal blockage to ear infections and deafness, to hoarseness. Mirosuction and flexible nasendoscopy are avilable at all clinics.

     Whilst studying medicine at Bristol University, Mr Benjamin developed an interest for ENT, spending his elective at the Royal National Throat Nose and Ear Hospital.

He gained excellent general ENT training and developed a sub specialty interest in paediatrics and otology on the Thames ENT training programme. He has gone on to study under world experts at the House Ear Institute, Los Angeles, USA where he gained experience in various middle ear and skull base procedures and also at Great Ormond Street Hospital, London, UK where he gained experience in paediatric airway evaluation and reconstruction.

As well as a first class honours BSc degree and being awarded “Honours” for his undergraduate medical qualification, He went on to gain the MRCS and the FRCS (ORL-HNS) as well as the DLO and several postgraduate prizes.

He has published numerous peer reviewed original scientific papers, as well as many abstracts, historical article and reviews. He has presented work at national and international meetings covering all aspects of ENT. Professor Martin Birchall is a Consultant Ear Nose and Throat Surgeon and Professor of Laryngology with over two decades of experience in the treatment and management of ENT conditions, particularly swallowing, airway and voice disorders.
