Dr Alam was awarded the Gold Medal at Guy’s and St. Thomas’ Hospital Medical School for placing first in MBBS finals. She was additionally awarded Distinctions in Medicine, Surgery and Obstetrics and Gynaecology and prizes in Thoracic Medicine, Neurology and Obstetrics & Gynaecology.

Her postgraduate training in general medicine was at The Royal Brompton Hospital, Imperial College and St. George’s Hospital. She carried out Dermatology specialist training at St. John’s Institute of Dermatology, Chelsea & Westminster, St Mary’s Hospital and Imperial College London.

She completed a PhD with award-winning postgraduate research in genetic skin conditions with prizes from the Royal College of Physicians, the Skin Investigation Society and the British Association of Dermatology annual trophy and prize. Dr Alam’s research has been published in Nature Genetics and many additional high impact factor medical journals.

Dr Alam practices as a Consultant Dermatologist seeing adult and paediatric patients. She is also an Honorary Senior Lecturer at Imperial College London. She carries out joint specialist clinics in inherited skin cancer syndromes at the Royal Marsden Hospital.

As well as enjoying clinical practice, she is an Imperial lead for medical student teaching, has been awarded a commendation for teaching excellence and is a chair of the Imperial College Dermatology Society. She has also acted as clinical editor of a quarterly scientific journal, Current Medical Literature in Dermatology.

Dr. Sarah Riaz is a London based Consultant Dermatologist. She is an experienced Dermatologist who can manage skin diseases in adults and children. She was appointed as a Consultant Dermatologist in 2010 at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, London and has worked as a doctor for 25 years, after graduating from Charing Cross and Westminster medical school in 1995. She was the clinical lead for the Community Dermatology service and set up and developed 21 clinics across West London. Dr Christos Tziotzios is a Consultant Dermatologist and Senior Lecturer at St. John's Institute of Dermatology, Guy's and St. Thomas' Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, London. Dr Tziotzios specialised in scalp and hair disorders, alongside his general medical dermatology (e.g. acne, rosaea, psoriasis, eczema) and skin cancer.

Dr Tziotzios obtained his medical qualifications from the University of Cambridge. He undertook Academic Foundation Training and completed his Core Medicine Training at Cambridge University Hospitals before competitively being appointed Academic Clinical Fellow in Dermatology at St. John’s.

He developed an interest in molecular genetic research and hair disorders and secured substantial research grant funding in order to undertake doctoral research into dissecting the molecular pathogenesis of a highly distressing type of scarring hair loss affecting women known as frontal fibrosing alopecia. His PhD research at St. John’s has culminated in high-impact publications, including an original article in Nature Communications, and several distinctions such as the British Association of Dermatologists (BAD) Whimster Prize, the BAD Wycombe Prize, the Royal Society of Medicine Dermatology Research Prize and the NIHR/BAD Award.

He remains active in basic and clinical research: he has recently been awarded the British Skin Foundation Young Investigator Award and leads a UK-wide research consortium investigating lichenoid, scarring and alopecic disorders. He is also the National (UK) Chief Investigator for the ALLEGRO studies into a novel and promising class of medicines for alopecia areata.

Dr Tziotzios teaches undergraduate and postgraduate (MSc) students and supervises PhD research at King’s College London, whilst is regularly invited speaker in local, regional, national and international scientific meeting
