Dr Nisith Sheth is a Consultant Dermatologist and Dermatological Surgeon at the St John’s Institute of Dermatology, a world class centre striving to advance dermatological treatment, research and education based at Guys' and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust. Established in 1868, St John’s Institute of Dermatology is the largest clinical dermatology department in the UK. In addition to his substantive consultant post here, Dr Sheth is also involved in training junior doctors and educating honorary consultants visiting from external departments who are looking to gain experience in the UK and further afield.

Entering with a British Medical Association scholarship, Dr Sheth graduated from University College Hospital Medical School with both class and national prizes. He then embarked on training in the UK, USA and Canada. He completed additional fellowship training in complex skin surgery, which included minimally invasive cosmetic procedures, lasers and Mohs micrographic surgery. As a result of his contributions to melanoma skin cancer research, Dr Sheth received an award from the American Academy of Dermatology.

Dr Sheth treats a range of skin problems including moles, skin cancers, acne, rosacea, scars, eczema, psoriasis, discolouration and ageing skin. In addition, he often receives referrals from other specialists and GPs for his expert opinion on the management of various skin problems and complications following cosmetic procedures. He is equipped with the latest technology and is supported by a number of highly respected colleagues from other fields who he can refer to when managing his most complex cases.

Dr Sheth is frequently invited to present at conferences, being a regular speaker for the European Society of Micrographic Surgery. Dr Sheth is a board member of a number of national and European committees, including the Royal College of Surgeons Cosmetic and Reconstructive Interface Group and the British Cosmetic Dermatology Group. Daniel Glass is a UK trained specialist Consultant Dermatologist. After qualifying at the University of Birmingham Medical School in 1999, he completed his postgraduate medical training in London. London-based Consultant Dermatologist, Dr Helene Menagé has a wealth of expertise and a wide range of dermatological interests from photodermatology, sun allergies and skin cancer, to general dermatology complaints such as eczema, acne, and psoriasis.

Dr Menagé graduated from Guys' Hospital with an intercalated BSc in Psychology before training in general medicine for four years at a number of London hospitals as well as on the St Thomas' medical registrar rotation. Dr Malcolm Rustin is a Consultant Dermatologist with a specialist interest in atopic eczema, skin cancer, psoriasis and rare skin diseases. He qualified from Medicine in 1976 from the University of London, and he completed his medical training at Middlesex Hospital in London. He then undertook his specialist dermatology training at St Bart’s Hospital and University College Hospital. Following this, he completed his Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree in 1988 and was soon appointed Consultant at The Royal Free Hospital a year later.

He is actively involved in research in atopic eczema and works with Professor Arne Akbar from the Department of Immunology. He has been a supervisor to many MD and PhD students, and has published over 100 articles based on his research. He was awarded a personal chair by University College London in 2011. He has been the Academic Vice-president of the British Association of Dermatologists, President of the Section of Dermatology at the Royal Society of Medicine and is President Elect of the Dowling Club.

Dr Alam was awarded the Gold Medal at Guy’s and St. Thomas’ Hospital Medical School for placing first in MBBS finals. She was additionally awarded Distinctions in Medicine, Surgery and Obstetrics and Gynaecology and prizes in Thoracic Medicine, Neurology and Obstetrics & Gynaecology.

Her postgraduate training in general medicine was at The Royal Brompton Hospital, Imperial College and St. George’s Hospital. She carried out Dermatology specialist training at St. John’s Institute of Dermatology, Chelsea & Westminster, St Mary’s Hospital and Imperial College London.

She completed a PhD with award-winning postgraduate research in genetic skin conditions with prizes from the Royal College of Physicians, the Skin Investigation Society and the British Association of Dermatology annual trophy and prize. Dr Alam’s research has been published in Nature Genetics and many additional high impact factor medical journals.

Dr Alam practices as a Consultant Dermatologist seeing adult and paediatric patients. She is also an Honorary Senior Lecturer at Imperial College London. She carries out joint specialist clinics in inherited skin cancer syndromes at the Royal Marsden Hospital.
