Dr Daniel Crespi is an experienced Consultant Paediatric Gastroenterologist and Endoscopist at The Royal Free Hospital London. He sees children from newborn to 18 in Golders Green, London and Elstree in Hertfordshire. Background

Dr Crespi qualified from Guy’s, King’s and St Thomas’ School of Medicine, King’s College London in 2001, and subsequently trained in London in general paediatrics. He then specialised in paediatric gastroenterology, hepatology and nutrition, working in several of the major paediatric gastroenterology and hepatology centres in London and Southampton.

Current Roles

Daniel has been a Consultant Paediatric Gastroenterologist since 2011 at the Centre for Paediatric Gastroenterology at the Royal Free Hospital in London. He has helped to develop the service there with new style nurse-led and telephone clinics, clinical governance and departmental guidelines and currently sits on the Hospital Drugs and Therapeutics Committee.

He is also involved in teaching medical students at University College London (UCL) Medical School, and was recently made an Honorary Clinical Associate Professor.

His Kids Gastro Care clinics are usually in North London (Hampstead and Golders Green) and in Elstree, Hertfordshire.

Professor Marcus Reddy attained a BSc(Pharm) in 1989 and received his MBBS from St George’s Hospital Medical School in 1992. He became an FRCS(Eng) in 1997 and FRCS(Gen) in 2004. He trained in London and Australia where he gained an in-depth knowledge of GI surgery, liver transplantation, hepatobiliary surgery and laparoscopic surgery. Professor Reddy is the clinical lead for General Surgery in St George’s and the Bariatric Surgeon in the department, offering a name of procedures including gastric band, laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy, gastric bypass and endoscopic balloon placement. He developed the South Thames Bariatric Service at the hospital which performs procedures relating to bariatric and benign upper GI conditions. He is also a member of the committee overseeing the National Bariatric Surgery Database, a senior lecturer in surgery at St George’s, University of London and an active member at many prestigious associations.

Dr Vadamalyan has special interests in children's GI investigations such as endoscopy (gastroscopy, balloon enteroscopy, capsule enteroscopy and colonoscopy), pH studies to diagnose reflux, hydrogen breath tests to diagnose lactose intolerance, food allergy tests and pancreatic function tests. He trains other paediatric doctors on endoscopy and run endoscopy course, and he is also the Chair for the endoscopy working group in BSPGHAN (British Society of Paediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition)

Mr Mark George is a Consultant Colorectal and General Surgeon at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust. He also performs private work at London Bridge Hospital and HCA UK at The Shard. He is a specialist in the treatment of advanced primary and recurrent colorectal cancer, as well as laparoscopic (keyhole) colorectal surgery. He also has expertise in pilonidal sinus surgery, haemorrhoids, fistula and fissure surgery, and hernia repairs.

Mr George qualified from St Mary’s Hospital in 1991, before completing higher surgical training in the South East London Region. He undertook research at the Royal Marsden Hospital and Institute of Cancer Research and was awarded his Master of Surgery in 2002. He was appointed as a Consultant Colorectal Surgeon to Guys and St Thomas’ Hospitals in 2003. He is now the Clinical Lead for colorectal cancer and the Regional Anal and Cancer Surgeon.

He is a keen triathlete and one day will get to Hawaii.

When he retired from his NHS post in 2014, a newspaper article in the Watford Observer called him a 'groundbreaking doctor.'

These represent a vast number of patients referred for specialist opinion to UCLH, and the activity of the research group is linked closely with the clinical hepatopancreaticobiliary service at UCLH and the Royal Free.

Steve Pereira is past Chairman of the British Society of Gastroenterology Pancreatic Section and President of the Pancreatic Society of GB&I, and current Endoscopy lead on the HPB Board of London Cancer as well as serving on the research committees of the British Society of Gastroenterology and Guts UK.

He has achieved extensive experience in metabolic and bariatric surgery and offers all types of treatment including endoscopic intragastric balloon placement, laparoscopic gastric banding, gastric bypass, sleeve gastrectomy and revisional procedures.

Mr Gianluca Bonanomi completed his medical education and general surgery training at the University of Pisa in Italy and subsequently undertook further specialist surgical training in the United States, United Kingdom and France. He completed a research fellowship in minimally invasive/robotic surgery and a clinical fellowship in advanced laparoscopic surgery and bariatrics at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in the USA, where he was appointed as attending surgeon and assistant professor, before moving to London.

He has been the clinical lead for the Bariatric and Metabolic Surgery Service at Chelsea and Westminter Hospital in London where he received clinical excellence awards for his role and for working towards the establishment of a recognised multidisciplinary referral centre.

Mr Bonanomi holds professional memberships at the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS), British Medical Association (BMA), Association Upper Gastrointestinal Surgeons (AUGIS), British Obesity and Metabolic Surgery Society (BOMSS), International Federation for the Surgery of Obesity (IFSO) and Medical Protection Society (MPS).
