Dr Shefali Rajpopat is a Consultant Dermatologist at Barts Health NHS Trust in London. She undertakes private practice at London Bridge Hospital (The Shard and 120 Old Broad Street) and The Holly Private Hospital. She consults on all aspects of skin disease including mole checks, acne, rosacea, psoriasis and eczema.

Shefali graduated from Guy’s, King’s and St Thomas’ Medical School in 1999 with Honours. She trained in dermatology at Barts Health, The Royal Free Hospital and St John’s Institute of Dermatology. In 2010 she was appointed Honorary Consultant in Dermatology at Barts Health NHS Trust and Clinical Senior Lecturer at Queen Mary University London.

Shefali has an interest in skin cancer and is the skin cancer lead at her hospital. She sees urgent skin cancer referrals and works within a multidisciplinary team.

As well as her clinical work Shefali is actively involved in research and medical education. She received a research grant from the British Skin Foundation and was awarded an MD (Res) for research into harlequin ichthyosis and genetic skin disease. Shefali gained the Postgradualte Diploma in Medical Education and is course director for the international Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Dermatology at QMUL and also plays an active role in undergraduate teaching. Dr Manuraj Singh is a Consultant Dermatologist and Dermatopathologist at St Georges University Hospital London. He graduated from King’s College London School of Medicine as one of the top students in his year, having won many academic distinctions and prizes. He was Proxime accessit to the University of London Gold Medal and was awarded the prestigious Jelf Medal, as the student who most distinguished himself during his undergraduate career. He trained in Dermatology and Dermatopathology at St John's Institute of Dermatology, Barts and The London NHS Foundation Trust and the Royal Free Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

Dr Singh was granted a prestigious Medical Research Council Clinical Training Research Fellowship to undertake a PhD on varicella zoster virus infection at the Centre for Cutaneous Research, Queen Mary University of London. He has presented his research nationally and internationally and was awarded a prize by the British Association of Dermatologists for the best PhD thesis.

Dr Singh’s main clinical and research interests are in skin cancer, skin infections and Dermatopathology. He runs a skin cancer clinic for immunosuppressed patients and runs the emergency Dermatology clinic, where he sees patients with severe eczema, psoriasis, drug eruptions, skin infections and blistering disorders. He also performs minor operations including skin biopsies and mole excisions.

He has a special interest in Dermatopathology, a field that is particularly important for correct patient diagnosis and management and has been awarded both the DipRCPath (Dermatopathology) and the ICDP-UEMS Board Certifying Examination for Special Qualification in Dermatopathology.

Dr Singh teaches medical students, dermatology trainees and GPs and was recently awarded a “Certificate of Commendation for Excellent Teaching” at St George’s Hospital. He is an examiner for the MSc in Clinical Dermatology at Kings College London and has taught GPs for the Diploma in Dermatology at Barts and The London.

Dr Andrew Markey is a Consultant Dermatologist and Dermatological and Laser Surgeon who graduated from the University of Manchester Medical School in 1980, undertaking specialist dermatology training at Guy’s Hospital and St. John’s Institute of Dermatology from 1986 onwards. In 1990, the University of Manchester awarded him his doctorate M.D for his research thesis ‘Non-melanoma skin cancer’. Following accreditation in dermatology (board certification) in 1991, Dr Markey left for a one-year post as Assistant Clinical Professor, University of California, San Francisco, specialising in all aspects of procedural dermatology.  

On his return to the UK, he was appointed Consultant Dermatologist and Senior Lecturer to St. John’s Institute, St. Thomas’ Hospital, London where he helped create the custom-built national referral, Dermatological Surgery and Laser Unit (DSLU), where he was Lead Clinician 1993-2000. In January 2003, he moved into full-time private dermatological surgery practice maintaining an Honorary Consultant position at St. John’s Institute, Guy's and St. Thomas’ Hospitals, where he continues to lecture and assist in training of other doctors from the UK and abroad in dermatological surgery. Dr. Markey was dermatology specialist advisor to the UK Government’s Department of Health Expert Advisory Group on the Regulation of Cosmetic Surgery 2003-2005 and was the UK contributing editor for the leading medical journal ‘Dermatologic Surgery’ for over 20 years.  

Dr. Markey is an internationally recognised expert on all aspects of procedural dermatology including a wide variety of surgical procedures for the skin, laser technologies, chemical peeling, soft tissue augmentation (fat, hyaluronic acids) and neurotoxin injectable treatments (botulinum toxins), used in treating the visible consequences of a large variety of dermatological conditions including scarring.  He has over 70 publications including original papers, abstracts and book chapters with extensive lecture invitations as guest speaker and faculty member at many international dermatology meetings.

Dr Veronique Bataille is a London based Dermatologist (doctor specialising in skin conditions) with a specialist interest in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of skin cancer. She trained at the Louvain Medical School in Brussels and graduated in July 1985 (magna cum laude).
