Mr Rakesh Kucheria is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in lower limb anthroplasty including hip replacements, unicondylar knee replacements, revision hip and total knee replacements. For the last 18 years, he has been working at Heatherwood and Wexham Park hospitals now part of Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust. Mr Kucheria came to the UK in 1990 and trained at Royal London Hospital and Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in Stanmore. He has extensive experience of endoprosthetic reconstruction for failed anthroplasty and pathological fractures and also in total hip replacement, total knee replacement, unicindylar knee replacement, hip resurfacing and revision procedures.

Lately, Mr Kucheria has been working with computer-assisted surgery and navigated knee replacements. Additionally, he has a keen interest in treating trauma and works at Wexham Park Hospital, treating a variety of traumatic injuries such as upper limb fractures, ankle and lower limb fractures. He also leads the Enhanced Recovery Progamme, which is a revolutionary pathway for joint replacements designed to minimise post-operative pain and maximize early mobility of the joint.

Mr Andrew Forester is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon working for the Imperial College Healthcare Trust. He qualified from the University of Leicester in 1984, before taking his higher surgical training in Northwest Thames. He was appointed as a Senior Lecturer in Trauma and Upper Limb Surgery between the Royal Postgraduate Medical School, Hammersmith Hospital and Central Middlesex Hospital, London and then took up a consultant post at Imperial College Healthcare at Charing Cross Hospital, West London.

After qualification Mr Forester studied Design and Engineering with the Open University to understand better Orthopaedic principles. He later continued his studies completing a Diploma in French in 2001.

Mr Forester sees patients with all common shoulder and elbow conditions. His main area of interest includes minimally invasive treatment/arthroscopic surgery, particularly for frozen shoulder, stiff elbow, rotator cuff pathology and instability. He is an expert in upper limb reconstructive procedures, including joint replacement surgery, and offers a full range of both open and arthroscopic management.

Mr Forester is actively involved in teaching and training of surgical residents and general practitioners. He is a member of the Faculty of Examiners for the Royal College of Surgeons at Edinburgh and takes an active part in post-graduate training.

In his spare time Mr Forester enjoys sailing his Dart 16 catamaran, cycling, tennis, snowboarding (badly), DIY and gardening. He particularly enjoys taking Kevin his collie campervanning with his wife Rachael.

Toby has also undertaken two recognised sub-specialist fellowship trainings in shoulder and trauma surgery. The first at the internationally renowned Cape Shoulder Institute in Cape Town and at the University of Stellenbosch, and the second at King's College Hospital – a nationally recognised upper limb and major trauma surgery fellowship. Toby has a particular in interest in outcomes, and consequently completed the Value Based Healthcare course at Harvard Business School. Leveraging this knowledge he has helped to re-design a number of NHS services and continues to provide healthcare advisory support to providers and commissioners of healthcare as a subject matter expert particularly in the field of musculoskeletal outcomes and value delivery.

Toby is active in the world of research and education having presented widely at national and international conferences and has published over 40 papers as well writing book chapters for international shoulder textbooks. He has designed and led several studies into restructuring and delivering Trauma and Orthopaedic services as well as producing shoulder research that led to the award of an MSc in Orthopaedics. He also provides peer review support to internationally recognised journals. He is part of the Kings College Hospital FRCS faculty and provides academic support to the department’s trainees. Toby also actively participates in charity work and is a keen sportsman with a particular interest in rugby and rowing having played at university, regional and national levels.
