Mr Aslam Mohammed is a very experienced and highly respected Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon.
His exclusive interest is in Hip and Knee Sports Injury, Complex Hip and Knee problems.
He is based at Wrightington Hospital for Joint Disease, one of the very few specialists Orthopaedic Centres in the U.K.
He is available at The Princess Grace Hospital, London and The Wilmslow Hospital, Manchester, which are part of HCA Healthcare. He also is available at Euxton Hall Hospital.
He offers in-depth consultations and assessments to help make an accurate diagnosis and then discuss the options of treatment, which will be clearly explained. He attracts referrals for second opinions nationally and from overseas.
He uses joint preservation techniques and minimal access surgery where possible. He is committed to providing the latest proven techniques and treatments for his patients. He uses minimally invasive approaches where possible and deploys implants, which are suited to each individual case to give the best long-term outcomes.
He regularly travels to centres of excellence across Europe and the USA teaching and gaining experience from others to maintain his position at the forefront of knowledge and innovation.
Since his appointment at Wrightington Hospital, he has established two specialist teams to provide a first-class service to patients suffering from hip and knee sports injuries and secondly a young adult hip problem speciality team.
Mr Aslam Mohammed graduated from the Welsh National School of Medicine, Cardiff in 1984 and completed a prestigious and extensive training programme in his chosen field of Orthopaedics, at The Robert Jones Orthopaedic Hospital in Oswestry and The North Staffordshire Hospital in Stoke on Trent.
During his training, Mr Aslam Mohammed was awarded the G.K. Rose prize for Biomechanics and the Professors Gold Medal for his pioneering research into bone cell culture techniques.
Throughout his career, he has been interested in design and innovations to help patients with hip and knee problems. He has developed instruments for hip arthroscopy and minimally invasive hip surgery, optimising patient outcomes and reducing the side effects of surgery.
He has a passion for teaching future generations of Orthopaedic Surgeons and is involved in Medical Education and is a highly respected trainer for orthopaedic surgeons for the North West and Mersey training programmes, along with being very active in current local and national research projects.
