Mr Arun Sahai, PhD, FRCS (Urol), BSc (Hons.), is a Consultant Urological Surgeon in functional urology (bladder dysfunction, incontinence, uro-neurology and urinary tract reconstruction) at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospitals NHS Trust and a Reader in Urology within King’s College London.

Arun joined London Bridge Hospital in 2014 and has been a consultant at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Trust since 2013.

Arun qualified from the United Medical & Dental Schools of Guy’s and St Thomas’ and was trained in urology on the South Thames Rotation through the London Deanery. He spent his senior training years in the Department of Urology at Guy’s Hospital and following this undertook a visiting fellowship with Professor De Ridder at UZ Leuven Hospital in Belgium.

Arun is a member of the British Association of Urological Surgeons (BAUS), European Association of Urology, International Continence Society, International Consultation on Incontinence Research Society & Royal College of Surgeons of England.

His research interests include various aspects of benign bladder dysfunction. He is active in both commercial and non-commercial clinical trials. He has published > 90 peer reviewed international papers and >15 book chapters. He is the lead for undergraduate education in urology for his local medical school, King's College London. He is also involved in several aspects of postgraduate education including exam setting for the FRCS (Urol), invited faculty to numerous conferences (lectures and chair), tutor / faculty on many female and functional urology courses. He is currently on the committee of female, neurological and urodynamic urology within BAUS. He is a frequent reviewer for many international urology journals and is currently on the editorial board of Neurourology & Urodynamics.

Mr Sachin Malde, Consultant Urological Surgeon, currently works at Guy’s and St Thomas’s Hospital, London. He also works at several private practices around London. Professor Christopher Eden is a Consultant Urological Surgeon with specialist interests in Urological and Prostate cancers. He works as part of a very experienced team in this area . He also treats Peyronie’s disease, offering medical treatments in its early phases, and surgical correction if this fails.

Professor Persad has 25 years of experience in the restoration of fertility using microsurgical Reversal of Vasectomy and has some of the best results nationally. He also offers male infertility procedures such varicocele correction and testicular extraction of sperm in order to optimize assisted conception techniques.

Professor Francis Chinegwundoh MBE has received expert training in London and the West Midlands, as well as international training from the USA. He has a breadth of knowledge in Urology, allowing him to treat emergency and elective urology patients. Mr Acher is a Consultant Urological Surgeon. Following training on the South Thames part of the London Specialist Registrar roation he gained entry to the Specialist register in 2011. Mr Acher completed his PhD on prostate cancer brachytherapy at Cambridge University and in 2010 received a commendation at the Royal Socoiety of Medicine Young Trainee of the Year Awards.

His special interests include general urology, urinary stone disease, problems with urinary flow and urological cancers. Mr Acher has introduced short stay laser prostate surgery (HoLEP) for benign prostate problems and carries out 100 of these procedures per year. He also manages kidney stones and has set up an advanced Prostate Diagnostic services incorporating multiparametric MRI and comprehensive transperineal prostate biopsy- this has reduced infections and inconclusive transrectal biopsy, and most importantly is preferred by patients.

After competing his higher surgical training at Guy's Hospital, London and urological research at King's College Hospital Rick Popert was appointed consultant in 1996. His main area of interest and where his skills excell are in the evaluation and surgical treatmetn of benign and malignant prostatic disease. 

His surgical expertise lie in Robotic radical Prostatectomy, Dynamic Prostate Brachytherapy, for which he has the UK's largest experience of single visit dynamic intra-operative prostate brachytherapy and has carried out over 800 of these cases since 2004; Precision Prostate Diagnosis with MRI Fusion Biopsies and Holmium Laser Prostatectomy for which he has carried out over 800 holmium laser enucleations with reduced bleeding and length of stay in patients with prostate volumes larger than 100 cc compared with standard transurethral prostatectomy (TURP). 

His surgical tecnhique is now a robotic assisted approach as opposed to the more conventional open radical prostatectomy carrying out over 600 robotic prostatectomies since 2006; For benign prostatic disease, he has one of the UK's largest experience of holmium laser prostatectomy (HoLEP).

He is an expert in Precision Prostate Diagnostics and has developed a rapid access prostate MRI assessment service together with with a unique systematic transperineal biopsy approach which provides accurate tumour localisation; this is an approach that has been further enhanced by the technique of MRI fusion targeted biopsy of the prostate which he introduced in March 2012. 

In 2014 he introduced a prostate arterial embolisation service. This is an alternative to the surgical management of benign prostatic disease avoiding the complications of urinary incontinence, erectile and ejaculatory dysfunction.
