Mr David Redfern is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals. He studied in London and trained in London and Cambridge. He then undertook subspecialist fellowships at Johns Hopkins University (Baltimore, USA), and in Bristol at the Avon Orthopaedic Centre. 

Mr Redfern has extensive experience in the management of foot and ankle disorders, trauma and sports injuries, including arthroscopic and minimally invasive surgery. He has performed thousands of foot and ankle operations and is an internationally recognised expert who has developed minimally invasive and less invasive techniques in these areas. He is particularly renowned for his contributions to bunion surgery and the treatment of complex forefoot and hindfoot problems. Together with a French colleague, he invented the MICA technique (Minimally Invasive Chevron Akin) for correcting bunions using keyhole surgery which has been adopted by surgeons worldwide. 

Mr David Redfern is actively involved in education and training and has trained more than 150 surgeons worldwide. He is also chair of the Minimally Invasive Surgery Committee of the European Foot and Ankle Society.

Mr Sivaraman has graduated medicine in 1993 at Madurai-Kamaraj University. He is currently a consultant orthopaedic surgeon who encourages non-surgical options with pain management plans and is well known for educating and assisting his patients in the decision making process when considering treatment options. He believes for most of the cases that conservative treatment should be followed before surgery.

He specialises in spinal surgery for deformity, inflammatory spinal pathologies, degenerative conditions of the neck and lower back, spinal tumours, infections such as spinal tuberculosis. He is also actively involved in the training of medical students and orthopaedic specialist trainees at St Bartholomew's Hospital and at The Royal London Hospital. Mr Sivaraman enjoys sharing his knowledge also by presenting GP lectures and physical therapist lectures. 

Mr Sivaraman is heavily involved in research, having published and presented papers on spinal surgery at international conferences. Additionally, he is also the author of a spinal chapter in a medical textbook.
