Mr Harry Powell was a medical student in London at the United Medical and Dental Schools of Guy’s and St Thomas’ from 1997 to 2003. He undertook basic surgical training in Bristol, followed by ENT (ear, nose and throat) specialist training at several prestigious London teaching hospitals, namely The Royal National Throat, Nose and Ear, Great Ormond Street and The Royal Marsden.

During this period he gained a breadth of experience treating adults and children with all ENT conditions. Two and a half years of otology, cochlear implants, neuro-otology and skull base surgery at the Royal National Throat, Nose and Ear Hospital reinforced his subspecialist interests.

He was awarded the Graham Fraser Memorial Fellowship and two Royal College of Surgeons grants for advanced surgical training in ear surgery and auditory implantation in Sydney, Australia where he developed an interest in endoscopic ear surgery.

He returned to Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust as the otology and auditory implant Fellow and was subsequently appointed as a Consultant there in September 2016.

His broad range of interests and expertise encompass general ENT (ear, nose and throat surgery) for adults and children; ear infections and hearing loss; mastoid and middle ear surgery (including endoscopic ear surgery); hearing implants; tinnitus, vertigo and balance problems; microtia and atresia; sinonasal congestion; sore throats, voice and swallowing problems; problems with taste or smell; and snoring. He has particular interests in diseases of the ear, hearing rehabilitation and auditory implants.

Professor Tony Narula qualified from Cambridge in 1979. He trained in ENT in London and Nottingham becoming a consultant in Leicester in 1989.

Tony was a consultant otorhinolaryngologist at St Mary's Hospital, Paddington, Charing Cross Hospital and Hammersmith Hospital. He was also an Honorary Consultant at Chelsea & Westminster and Royal Brompton Hospitals and took early retirement in Dec 2014.

Tony is one of the founders and current chairman of the Board of Governors of the Global Tracheostomy Collaborative. He has published widely on tracheostomy care and quality of life after paediatric ENT surgery.

He teaches extensively both in the UK and abroad and is an Honorary Visiting Professor at Middlesex University (since 2003) where he helps run the Diploma in ENT course for general practitioners. His main clinical interests are pediatric ENT and ear/ hearing disorders. 

Professor Narula was elected to the Council of the Royal College of Surgeons in 2004 where he was the Honorary Treasurer and served as President of ENT UK from 2015-2017.

Since his appointment, Mr Ghufoor has since gone on to become a Lead Clinician of the Head and Neck Surgery Department at St Bart’s and an Honorary Senior Lecturer at Queen Mary Medical College. Professor Ramindar Dhillon is a leading Consultant Ear Nose and Throat Specialist (ENT). Mr Roy Farrell trained in Medicine at Trinity College Dublin, and he qualified in 1983. He completed his training in general surgery over the next five years in hospitals in Dublin before moving to Sheffield to train in Otolaryngology with a special interest in Head and Neck cancer. While in Sheffield he researched the role of viral infections in the aetiology of Head and Neck Cancer.  Mr Moraleda is a consultant ENT, who is able to give expert treatment and diagnosis to general ENT problems. He is currently situated in South East London at University Hospital Lewisham.
